Construction
of the Catania-Siracusa expressway, between the town of Passo Martino,
along Catania Service Axis and km 130+400 of highway SS114. For nearly
25 km, of which 6 km are inside a natural, double-barrel tunnel,
over 4 km of viaducts (3200 m in cap; 900 m of metal platform), 2800
m in an artificial tunnel. Also part of the stretch are bridges,
overpasses, manholes and underpasses. The project envisages the construction
of three approach routes linked to existing roads. Main quantitative data: 77.000 tons of steel per cap; 1.400.000 cu. m. of concrete mix; 17.000 tons of structural steel.
